One of the joys of spending time on Rona is the wealth of fresh produce available on the island. The Isle of Rona supper club is run on request & an opportunity to sample island produce freshly prepared & cooked for you by Bill & Lorraine. The single menu will feature Rona venison and island seafood such as langoustines, crab, mackerel & pollack according to season & availability. Rona venison is gaining a reputation for excellence thanks to the expertise of island manager Bill Cowie. A stalker for 30 years, Bill’s experience and empathy for the deer results in delicious venison that is butchered & processed on the island. Dishes will also include, where possible, Rona’s wild food augmented by our home-grown fruit, vegetables, salad and free range eggs courtesy of Rona hens. We also source fresh seafood & produce from local fishermen & suppliers to ensure we have the finest ingredients to hand. One evening each week up to 8 places will be available for cottage guests and boat visitors to dine with us. Menus comprise of 4 to 5 courses and include a complimentary glass of wine to start the evening or a dram of whisky to finish, from Bill’s extensive collection. Further wine is available to buy, or you are very welcome to BYOB. Prices per head are from £30-£40 according to ingredients, additional bottles of wine may be purchased for £12.50 per bottle. We ask cottage guests to register their interest the week before arrival so we have some idea of numbers – but absolutely no obligation to attend. After arrival on Rona, we’ll let you know what evening the supper club might run if you would like to confirm a booking. Menus might include dishes such as: |
